Qualifications

In order to qualify as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist I studied psychology at an undergraduate level and then for an additional 3 years to gain a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Training entails working with clients across the whole lifespan and with a range of psychological difficulties.

I have a specialist interest in therapies which include:

  • Behavioural therapy,
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy,
  • Systemic (family) therapy,
  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) - a therapy that was specifically developed to help with depression.

This enables me to match which therapeutic approach is best suited to both the problems the client faces, and fits with the individual themselves.

I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) which is a therapy developed for working with people who suffer from trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
